I would like to echo Eric’s comments in that with the exception of bugs and for me some sleeping issues ;o), the trip was excellent. Nice to get away from the city to experience “REAL” peace and tranquility. Thanks very much to you, Andre, Kim and Eddy for providing me the great escape. Now on the topic of trip themes, I think it can be said that Eddie has won on that front. Eddie Money that is ;o) with “ Take Me Home Tonight (Be my little baby)” safely being the trip theme song, well at least for some of us :o). Also learned and apparently earned some new acronyms but I’ll defer to Andrew and David to put together the list. Only one that comes to mind and might have started the acronym trend is “ MVBPP (Most Valuable Butt Pimple Popper) which I think was awarded to David :o) :o)

Anyway, it was great to get together with the FishingPals gang and I look forward to many more trips.

The most memorable thing from this year's trip may have been the proliferation of blackflies and mosquitoes. Holy mackerel! They were something fierce! The long, wet spring contributed to their late presence and if you ever wanted to experience how bad it could get, that was the time. Otherwise, this year's trip was pretty much a generic duplicate of other years. The weather was pretty good, as we never had to put on a raincoat, and the fishing was also pretty good, as we caught enough for our Tilapia/Walleye fish dinner.

Upgrades to the camp generator have been noted and an updated instruction procedure will be available soon. I didn't take advantage of the not-so-hot hot tub this year. We caught enough pike for our wontons, and we were able to have fish sandwiches for lunch. All dinners were completed except for the pork chops which became lunch the next day. The Internet connection seems to be the highest priority nowadays, so if we ever get a 5G connection, we may be able to stream video eventually.

12 hot dogs and 6 hot dog buns. That was a bummer. Ran out of Bailey's. That was a bummer. No cole slaw. Ran out of 'Memories of Thailand'. I think we need to double quantities for next year. Better to have too much.

Good to see Eddy and Toby again. Eddy was able to show us his skills when doing some bodywork on Ron's van. Toby was still looking for hot dogs in the camp fire when we last checked. We have established that the best music ever written came from the 70's. Ok, now that "Sounds of the 70's" is over, George and I have a request: Can we get a couple of songs that are less than 10 years old? Funny how the dinosaurs of the group are the real music aficionados. Until next year...

Once again I had a great time on Sashihaw. I was not slaying fish like Andrew and David but I did have a good morning catching a natural hat trick of Walleye. The standout this year was the weather. Cool mornings and warm afternoons. Not much wind made maneuvering the boat a breeze! Of course the evenings were still warm allowing the black flies and mosquitoes to be bad. Worst ever. I am not sure about that. The accommodations and the boats all worked out well. Nice to see Eddie again. Thanks again to Andre, Kim, Eddy, and Fred for opportunity to be on such a peaceful lake in the middle of the northern woods. I reflected on the tranquility more than once when the motor was off and we were casting to the shore \ tree tops.
