A long time ago, Eric and Fred decided to plan a fishing trip. This began with a small group camping in Algonquin Park. We soon graduated to bigger, more organized trips which included portaging canoes through waterways and flying our equipment into camp. Getting tired of canoes, we discovered that rental boats were more conducive for a more relaxing vacation. However, after a few attempts at renting motor boats in cottage country, we found that the extra traffic with cottagers and police were intruding on our solitude. The early years were certainly interesting...
After a trip to the Fishing Show and the Sportsmen's Show, we were able to check out a few outfitters with affordable vacation packages. We were looking for lakes that did not have any road access for the general public, and that were not too far away. In 1994, we were able to put together a small party to fly in to a lake and have a relaxing fishing vacation. We have been doing it ever since.
Our trips take place in the Northern Ontario region --- about a 5 or 6 hour drive north of Toronto. We think that is a long enough drive for us. Some of the guys are coming from as far as Kentucky and Scotland!
Recent developments in the middle East have caused us to look towards more cost effective fishing trips. The price of flying into lakes has become something for the rich and famous, and with the ability to use a camp in Northern Ontario, it became academic that our fishing trips would take on a whole new look. Thanks to Andre and Eddy, we have had the good fortune to use a camp that is not only affordable, but even more luxurious than we are accustomed.
We have been trying to keep our pictures posted on free Internet websites, but with the proliferation of banner ads, and pop-ups, we decided to spring for some real webspace. Any comments, criticisms, suggestions, etc. would be appreciated. |
