Thursday

• Eric, David & Ron leave early for Gravenhurst in rental van
• Andrew drives up in second van
• Peter and Fred meet the gang at Ron's
• Hamburgers and chocolate beer

 

Friday

• Ben arrives
• Stop in Sturgeon Falls for coffee and supplies at the Metro
• Stop in Chelmsford for lunch and gas
• Ron gets a flat tire right at the camp
• Andre and Eddy at the camp to greet us
• New: Four shipping containers for storage; plans for a garage expansion
• New: outdoor kitchen area in porch
• New: Solar panels operational
• Dinner: Souvlaki & salads

 

Saturday

• two boats morning fishing
• Kim, Julie & Danni arrive
• Andre goes back to town with the girls
• Eric, Ron and David explore a new lake (lake A); no fish
• Dinner: Frankie's chicken and quinoa

 

Sunday

• two boats go morning fishing
• Pike wontons for deep frying and soup (grinder supplied by Ron)
• Wonton soup missing key ingredient: wonton soup base (flavour)
• Pike and Poutine lunch
• the boys explore Shookemi Lake (lake B); no fish
• Germany wins the World Cup (soccer)
• Dinner: Steak and garlic mashed potatoes

 

Monday

• Peter in pain; opts out of day fishing trip
• lunches are packed, two vehicles and boats head out to Kasasway
• minor boat motor repair needed; leak in boat
• Andrew lands the big-un; 7.5 pound walleye
• spotted bear running in front of vehicle
• Dinner: Spaghetti & Meatballs

 

Tuesday

• Pete catches a good sized walleye on Sashihaw
• Jamaican Jerk fish for lunch
• Dinner: Steamed bass, broccoli & rice
• Eric & Fred crowned Euchre champs again

 

Wednesday

• Eddy goes back to town
• cleaned up the camp and locked up
• spotted bear on road
• lunch at the Hungry Bear in French River
