2017 was another good year with the Fishing Pals. The Pickerel were not biting as much as last year, but we caught enough for lunches and the final Tilapia dinner, thanks Ben.....

What made this year special for me was the return of Richard.  He introduced me to a new technique for fishing Pickerel, he proved once again I am the better skeet shooter than David, and set up long distance sniper shooting.  Another thing I like about Richard is the 01:00 AM booze cruises after the 40+ go to bed.  The first night we tore up the back roads, second had a campfire on the pontoon fishing with a home made fly swatter rod.

Can't wait to get back to Sashihaw, hunting, fishing, loving every minute of it.

Eric This year's trip was a winner ($20) for the largest Walleye on Saturday night. The weather cooperated. Not a lot of wind or rain over the 5 days. Good crowd and food. The electricity at the camp was all tuned up. We easily switched from generator to solar and sometimes even none for the peace and quiet and to let the sun charge the batteries. Big plus on the boats was the new motor and controls on the small pontoon. Behaves like the large pontoon but better. Faster and more maneuverable. Bugs were not too bad as long as you were not out between 9:30 and 11pm. Allowed for late night fires and booze cruises apparently ! Thanks Andre, Kim, Eddy, and Richard.

This year's fishing trip was another successful outing that proved that the FishingPals can't be stopped. Earlier reports that the fishing was going to be difficult were unfounded, as we were able to catch enough walleye to have our fish dinner.

We learned that Chromecast needs an Internet connection to work (even a slow one). The FishingPals were introduced to Daniel Tosh. Yes, we can get Internet in the woods.

The weather was a bit cooler for this time of the year, but we didn't need winter jackets. Sometimes a little rain helps with the fishing. Mosquito levels appeared to be normal except you needed to avoid the 10 PM time period (they must set their alarm clocks to come out).

Meals worked out well. The not-so-hot hot tub was used. The new generator worked like a charm; solar panels as well. Hot water showers were great. Fun with guns. Fred and Pete were euchre champs.

Thanks to Eddy and Richard for helping out. We always welcome the company.

Rick Awesome trip.  Forgot how much fun these were.  Catching a big fish was a bonus as was shooting the targets.  Didn’t realize I had a knack for the latter. Might seriously see about going to shooting range to see if it was all a fluke ;o)

It was a great trip. Lots of fish, good company, food, beer, and weather. A big thanks to our hosts.

We appreciated the use of the extra trailer. Very impressed with the new generator inside a metal trailer, the extra solar panels, and the raised vegetable garden.

Richard and Diesel coming up on the weekend to join us --- was great fun, as well as him blazing a trail up to a remote lake last winter which now allowed us to enjoy some good pike fishing action (and the extra exercise on the portage!).
