This year’s fishing trip marks the return of old time FishingPal, Rick. Rick’s last outing was in 2000 at Scotia Lake with Sudbury Aviation. We’ve come a long way since then. As usual, we’ve noticed some more improvements at the camp --- new generator, improved solar panel system, pontoon boat improvements, running hot water, and a spare trailer for more sleeping accommodations. It’s truly an oasis in the woods.
We were concerned that we may have missed the prime fishing window as the lunar cycle was just concluding as we were arriving. But, we may have just caught the end of the cycle as we were still able to bag a few good sized walleye. Good job on the meals and we even had time to make our pike wontons. This season has been unusually cool, and we had to deal with a few days of rain. However, we still had enough hot weather to take a dip in the ‘not so hot’ hot tub.

This year’s activities included trap shooting, target practice with .22 rifles, rock launching, barbershop lessons, hot tubbing, wonton folding, euchre, Chromecast broadcasting, day trips to Elbow and unknown lake, late night fish fry, and dirt biking. Eddy and Richard were around to keep things in order, which meant that Toby and Diesel were nearby. We had to have a few fires at night as the temperatures were low enough that we could enjoy roasting a few hot dogs. The mosquitos went to bed by 11 PM.

Ron found these at Elbow Lake...

Our fish dinner this year was the Parmesan-Lemon 'Tilapia'. Another notch on the belt for a successful fishing expedition. The last night was capped off with the traditional burning of the furniture. The FishingPals once again conquer Sashihaw and get her to give up the goods. We're unstoppable.

This year's version of the video has gone straight to multimedia. FishingPals are trying to keep up with the technology, and the day of the disk might be over. The .mp4 file is distributed to the FishingPals, and a shorter version of the video will be available on our Video page.
